Refund and Cancellation Policy

1. Introduction

At RankGuru, we strive to provide the best JEE/NEET exam preparation experience. This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains under what circumstances you may be eligible for a refund on your premium plan purchase.

By purchasing a premium plan on RankGuru, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy. Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase.

2. One-Time Payment Model

RankGuru operates on a one-time payment model for premium access. When you purchase a premium plan:

  • You pay once for the duration of your chosen plan (monthly, quarterly, or annual)
  • No auto-renewal: Your plan will not automatically renew or charge you again
  • Access remains active for the entire purchased duration
  • After expiration, you can choose to purchase a new plan if desired
  • Your progress data and performance history are always retained

This means you have full control over when and if you want to continue using premium features without worrying about recurring charges.

3. Refund Policy

3.1 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee

We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for all premium plan purchases:

  • Request a full refund within 7 days of the purchase date
  • Applicable to all plan durations (monthly, quarterly, and annual)
  • Available for both first-time and repeat purchases
  • Refund will be processed to your original payment method within 7-10 business days
  • Contact us at support@rankguru.com to request the refund

3.2 Refunds After 7 Days

Purchases made more than 7 days ago are generally non-refundable. However, we may consider refund requests after this period in exceptional circumstances (see Section 3.3).

Since there is no auto-renewal, you will never be charged unexpectedly. Your plan simply expires at the end of its duration, and you can choose whether to purchase again.

3.3 Exceptional Circumstances

Refunds outside the 7-day guarantee period may be considered in exceptional circumstances, including:

  • Technical Issues: Prolonged service outages or critical bugs that prevent access to the platform
  • Duplicate Charges: Accidental duplicate payments due to system errors
  • Medical Emergencies: Serious medical conditions preventing use (documentation required)
  • Billing Errors: Charges made in error or unauthorized transactions

Refund requests under exceptional circumstances must be submitted to refunds@rankguru.com with supporting documentation. Each request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

4. Non-Refundable Items and Services

The following are not eligible for refunds:

  • Plans purchased more than 7 days ago (unless exceptional circumstances apply)
  • Partial refunds for unused portions of a plan duration
  • Refunds due to change of mind after the 7-day guarantee period
  • Refunds for plans purchased through third-party platforms (contact the platform directly)
  • Promotional or discounted plans (special terms may apply)
  • Accounts suspended or terminated due to Terms of Service violations
  • Plans where access has been fully utilized or extensively used

5. Refund Processing

5.1 How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, follow these steps:

  1. Email refunds@rankguru.com with the subject line "Refund Request"
  2. Include your account email, plan details, and reason for refund
  3. Attach supporting documentation if applicable (e.g., medical certificates, screenshots of technical issues)
  4. Our team will review your request within 3-5 business days
  5. You will receive an email notification with the decision and next steps

5.2 Refund Timeline

Once your refund request is approved:

  • Credit/Debit Cards: 7-10 business days
  • Net Banking: 7-10 business days
  • UPI/Wallets: 5-7 business days
  • International Payments: 10-15 business days

Refund processing times may vary depending on your payment provider. If you do not receive your refund within the specified timeline, please contact us.

5.3 Refund Method

Refunds will be processed to the original payment method used for the purchase. We cannot issue refunds to a different payment method or account.

6. Plan Expiration and Extension

6.1 No Auto-Renewal

RankGuru premium plans do not auto-renew. Your payment is a one-time charge, and you will never be billed automatically for a renewal. This gives you complete control over your spending.

6.2 Expiration Reminders

We send the following expiration reminders to help you decide if you want to continue:

  • 7 days before expiration: First reminder email
  • 3 days before expiration: Final reminder email
  • On expiration day: Plan expiration notification with option to renew

Please ensure your email address is up to date to receive these reminders. You can update your email in Profile Settings.

6.3 Extending Your Plan

After your plan expires, you can purchase a new plan at any time from the Premium page. Your progress data and performance history are never deleted, so you can pick up right where you left off.

7. Special Offers and Promotions

Plans purchased through promotional offers, discount codes, or special campaigns may have different refund terms:

  • Limited-time offers may be non-refundable (stated at purchase)
  • Discounted plans still qualify for the 7-day money-back guarantee unless otherwise stated
  • Bundle offers and multi-user plans have separate refund policies (contact support)
  • Coupon codes and promotional discounts cannot be refunded separately from the base plan

Specific terms for promotional offers will be clearly communicated at the time of purchase.

8. Third-Party Purchases (App Stores)

If you purchased your RankGuru premium plan through a third-party platform (e.g., Google Play Store, Apple App Store), the refund policies of that platform apply.

  • Google Play Store: Contact Google Play support or request refunds through your Google account
  • Apple App Store: Request refunds through Apple support or reportaproblem.apple.com
  • Other Platforms: Refer to the platform's refund policy and contact their support

RankGuru cannot process refunds for plans purchased through third-party platforms. You must contact the platform directly for refund requests.

9. Changes to Plan Pricing

We reserve the right to modify plan prices at any time. Price changes will be communicated as follows:

  • Announcement on our website and Premium page
  • Email notification to existing users
  • In-app notification when you log in to your account

Important: If you have an active premium plan, price changes will not affect your current plan. You have already paid for the full duration, and that price is locked in. New prices only apply to future purchases.

We may offer special pricing to existing customers when their plan expires as a thank you for your continued support.

10. Modifications to This Policy

We may update this Refund and Cancellation Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of RankGuru after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
